January might feel a long way off.
For gym operators planning to start 2027 with new equipment, a refreshed gym floor or an entirely new training zone, however, the work needs to begin much sooner.
In fact, September and October are some of the most important months for January planning.
Every year, the fitness industry sees the same pattern. January brings increased motivation, new memberships and returning members. Operators understandably want their facilities looking their best when that demand arrives.
The problem is that everyone else does too.
Don’t wait until December to think about January
Installing new equipment isn’t simply a case of choosing a machine and having it arrive the following week.
Depending on the scale of a project, there may be equipment selection, budgets, floor planning, lead times, logistics and installation to consider.
The larger the project, the more important that planning becomes.
Starting conversations now gives operators much more control over what happens next, rather than having availability and deadlines dictate the project.
What does your gym floor actually need?
Planning early also creates an opportunity to ask a more important question than what should we buy?
What do our members need from us in 2027?
Look at your existing gym floor.
Which machines are consistently busy? Where are members waiting? Which areas are gaining momentum? Is there equipment occupying valuable space that is rarely used?
And what are members asking for that you currently don’t provide?
Lower-body and glute training is one area where we continue to see significant interest from operators.
But that doesn’t necessarily mean filling every available space with another machine.
For some gyms, one or two carefully selected additions may be enough. For others, creating a dedicated Booty Builder zone can transform an underdeveloped part of the gym into a clear member destination.
Use January to make an impact
There’s another advantage to completing a project for January: visibility.
New members are walking through the doors. Existing members are returning with fresh goals. Social channels are busier and gyms are competing harder for attention.
A meaningful equipment investment gives operators something tangible to talk about.
Rather than simply telling prospective members that you’ve invested in the facility, you can show them.
Start the conversation now. You don’t need to have every detail decided today but that’s precisely why it’s worth starting now.
React Fitness can work with you to understand the facility, available space, existing equipment and ambitions before recommending the right Booty Builder solution.
Whether that’s one new machine, several additions or a complete Training Zone, starting earlier gives us more opportunity to get it right.
