FIBO 2026: What Actually Matters for Operators Right Now
Every year, FIBO claims to be bigger, better than ever before. This year, it actually was. But scale isn’t what matters. What matters is direction.
And what we saw in Cologne this year was a very clear shift in where the fitness industry is heading, and more importantly, what your members are already expecting when they walk into your facility.
Let’s break it down.
The People: Operators Are Thinking Differently
The biggest takeaway wasn’t the equipment. It was the conversations.
We spoke to gym owners, operators, group training specialists and multi-site chains from across Europe and beyond. And there was a consistent theme:
Operators are no longer asking “what equipment should I buy?”
They’re asking:
- “What experience am I creating and should I create?”
- “Why would members choose my facility over the one down the road?”
- “What actually drives retention for my members?”
This shift matters.
Because the operators who are winning are no longer building generic gym floors. They are building destinations within their gyms.
The Products
Across the show floor, innovation wasn’t about doing more, it was about doing it smarter.
We saw:
- Multi-functional strength equipment designed to maximise floor space
- Machines built around ease of use in unsupervised environments
- Equipment designed specifically for high-demand training categories
And one category stood above the rest….
Glute training.
This is no longer emerging. It is an established demand.
Walk into any busy gym floor and you’ll see it, queues at hip thrust stations, members adapting equipment, PTs programming glutes multiple times per week.
FIBO simply confirmed what operators already know: If your gym doesn’t support this properly, your members will find one that does.
The Reality Check: Trends vs. Standards
There were a lot of brands. A lot of “solutions”. A lot of noise.
But here’s the truth:
Most of what we saw wasn’t new; it was reaction, a reaction to what Booty Builder has built and continues to build. And for us here at React, that’s why the conversations we had and continue to have around Booty Builder stood out.
Not because it was the loudest brand on the floor, but because it’s already embedded in thousands of gyms globally, across 180+ countries, delivering exactly what members are demanding.
This isn’t a theory, it’s not anecdotal guesswork – It’s already happening.
What This Means for You and Your Facility
FIBO should never just be inspiration. It should be a filter.
- Is your strength floor built around how members actually train now?
- Are you creating standout zones or just filling space?
- Are you investing in proven demand, or chasing trends?
The gap between average and standout facilities is widening. FIBO made that very clear.
The good news for you though is that the opportunity to get it right has never been bigger.
And the operators who act on what they’re seeing now will be the ones leading the market over the next 12–24 months.
We came back from Cologne with one focus:
Helping our partners and new customers build spaces that members choose, and stay with.
Because that’s what actually matters.
